Dear Parents: Chapter 13- MTP: By Invite Only

Dear Parents,

Not many are aware of a signature program that is exclusive to our school. One that has helped many students secure Direct School Admission (DSA) placement, build confidence in presenting technopreneurship idea and gain first job experience through Kodecoon internship.

It is a special course that is not marketed. It is by invite only. It’s our Maker Technopreneurship Program (MTP).

Every year, I sit down with all my teachers to identify sparks in our classes- students who have performed extremely well in class and have shown high interest in coding and its application. We often look out for the 4Cs: Curiosity, Confidence, Collaboration and Conscientiousness.

MTP is a full year program with 4 modules focusing on 5 pillars: Design Thinking, Coding & Technology, Hardware Solutions, Internet of Things (IoT) and Technopreneurship.

Module 1 focuses on bringing their ideas to life through 3D prototyping. Module 2 focuses on harnessing modern technology such as AI, IoT and Machine Learning. Module 3 brings students into the world of mechatronics with exposure to soldering and electronics. Last but not the least, Module 4 wraps it all up to bring their creation into innovation through technopreneurship.

I have seen many projects that come to life through MTP. From automated hand-sanitisers, anti-slip smart shoes for elderly, illuminated phone cases for night usage of phones to delivery robots, these students see a bigger picture by applying their knowledge to something bigger than themselves.

I am proud to see how our MTP graduates have started forming their own student community of like-minded people who come back to volunteer in various school activities that we hold at Kodecoon.

I hope to be able to extend the invitation to even more future change-makers this year.

With love,

Teacher Deddy
