Welcome to our Scratch programming course! Here, your child will embark on a fun and interactive journey into the world of coding. Using Scratch, a user-friendly programming language, your child will learn how to create their own games, animations, and stories. Through this process, they will develop crucial problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills that will serve them well in the future. Our experienced instructors will guide your child every step of the way, fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment. By the end of the course, your child will have the confidence and skills to showcase their own unique projects and will have discovered the joy of coding!

Strengthening Decomposition Skills
At Kodecoon, we are dedicated to helping our students develop critical thinking and decomposition skills, which are essential for success in the world of programming. Instead of simply providing a set of instructions, our curriculum focuses on guiding students to identify the different components needed to create a game of their choice. This approach encourages students to think deeply and analyze problems, ultimately strengthening their ability to break down complex programming tasks into manageable parts.
From Theory to Application
In our programming course, we strive to bridge the gap between theory and application by providing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Each lesson is divided into two sections: theory and application. During the theoretical section, we cover core programming concepts using engaging stories, exercises, and activities. In the application section, we give students opportunities to apply what they have learned by creating games that reinforce the concepts they have studied.
Real Life Application
We believe that real-life application is key to mastering programming concepts. To this end, at the end of the program, our students will participate in the Kode It, Sparkies! Hackathon. This exciting event will challenge students to apply their newly acquired skills and knowledge to create a game that addresses an important real-world issue, such as Global Warming or Cyber Bullying. Through this experience, students will not only have the opportunity to showcase their creativity and programming skills, but they will also gain a deeper understanding of the relevance and significance of programming in their lives.
Scratch Programming – The Fun Way To Learn
Welcome to Scratch programming, a fun and engaging way to learn the basics of coding and computational thinking. Scratch is a block-based visual programming language that allows you to create interactive stories, games, and animations by snap ping together graphical blocks of code. Here’s what you can expect from Scratch programming:
Easy to Learn & Use
Scratch is designed to be easy to learn and use for beginners
Its block-based interface makes coding accessible and fun for people of all ages
Create Your Own Projects
With Scratch, you can create your own projects, from simple animations to complex games
You can let your creativity and imagination run wild and bring your ideas to life through coding
Share & Collaborate
Scratch also has a large online community where you can share your projects and collaborate with other coders from around the world
You can learn from others, get feedback on your work, and discover new ideas for your own projects
Teaches Computational Thinking
Scratch not only teaches you how to code, but it also teaches you computational thinking – a fundamental skill for problem-solving in any field
You’ll learn how to break down complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts and develop algorithms to solve them
“At the beginning of the course, I was hesitant about how the trainer would manage my kids aged 8 and 6. Their trainer was able to manage their emotions in a professional manner and convinced them to behave well during lessons. He was able to use the appropriate terms to teach the basis of coding concepts that were easily understood by the class. My kids continued with him through the Scratch program. Now they are doing App development. I am proud to say that my kids have learnt sufficient concepts that will help them in their logic thinking and problem solving skills. Thank you Kodecoon!”
“My son has been doing classes with them for the last 2 years and I am amazed at how much he has learned. The classes are super fun and interactive and the teachers are simply amazing. My younger son is eager to start too and I can’t wait for him to begin.Thank you and please keep up the good work of creating a new generation of Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg. Super recommend these classes to all parents.”

My kids started with Kodecoon earlier this year and they enjoyed the lessons conducted virtually. Teachers and admin staff were all very professional and nice. Virtual lessons saved us the hassle to trouble and the kids are able to create some fun games on their own. Highly recommended.

This is very good training academy. I asked my son to join just to have a taste of programming… thinking he can switch to other lesson non programming in the future. But have been years that i havnt been able to switch him out from programming ^^ he loves the teacher (shout out to Kishore!) and he likes the friends.

Loved the holiday sessions conducted for my 12yo! Full week of coding camp but time well spent! ^^ My son had fun, was engaged and made great friends even though everything was fully virtual (which was great because it saves me time from commuting!)

My Daughter gotten a surge of overwhelming interest back after the visit to Kodecoon Academy open house on Saturday and requested to go again the next day. Conducive environment where coding and robotics are concerned. The future is here for AI! A joy to watch her enthused for learning. Hannah Daddy

My son joined the holiday program in Sept and December and he enjoyed it so much. It was fun to have like minded friends to do this together. The teachers were so patient. My son asked for extended lesson as he was not able to catch up and without any hesitation, they went the extra mile to help him and make sure that he completes his assignment. Thumbs up for the Teachers!

Ryan has been taking coding lessons for more than a year with Teacher Ken and Teacher Deddy. He really enjoys attending weekly lessons and declares that his Teacher Ken is the coolest teacher ever. I am impressed that the educators at Kodecoon make an effort to connect with students at a personal level and guide them individually when help is needed. A big thank you to all the dedicated teachers at Kodecoon Academy!

Chloe has been with Kodecoon Academy since 2019. She enjoyed her classes and is always looking forward to her next lessons. The teachers are fun and engaging, esp Teacher Deddy who is dedicated in his work and will always check on the students’ progress. From scratch to web programming to python, Chloe has improved alot in her coding skills under the guidance of Kodecoon’s teachers. I am glad we have chosen Kodecoon!

My son got to know Kodecoon from his friend as they joined a coding competition together with the academy. Teacher Deddy guided them for the competition and expose them to think out of the box where they did a fund raising on top of the competition.

What Our Students Have Made
Not sure where to start your child’s coding journey? Let us help you out!
Here at Kodecoon Academy, we aim to equip every child with programming knowledge and the power to create change. In today’s increasingly digital world, programming is the new literacy.
Digital literacy is not equivalent to how proficient they are at playing mobile or computer games. Rather, it is the ability to understand how computers work and to write codes that can instruct computers to perform certain actions.
We want every child we teach to be future-ready – become creators and change-makers and not merely passive consumers of technology.
Like what Steve Jobs said. “Everyone should know how to program a computer because it teaches you how to think”. To be able to solve complex problems, your child needs to have computational thinking skills, which consist of 4 components namely Decomposition, Abstraction, Pattern Recognition and Algorithmic Thinking. For all the parents reading this, ask yourself the question, “Is my child ready to take on the digital age?”
What is the difference between holiday camps and your weekly classes?
1) Duration format Our holiday camp format is 3 hours of class everyday over a period of 5 days. This means a week-long of coding fun! Our weekly classes, on the other hand, is 1.5 – 2 hours of lesson each week over a period of 12 weeks (average).
2) Program offerings We offer exciting offerings like game design and development only during our holiday periods! Such programs are great to expose our students to see where their interest areas lie.
My child is new to programming, will he/she be able to follow?
Yes, of course! Most of our students join Kodecoon as complete beginners. And we see awesome projects that they coded on their own by the end of the lessons!
Are the classes online or in-person?
Our classes are conducted in-person at our venue to ensure real-time, two-way interaction between our students and our instructor. Only for certain modules, we have online classes. Do check with our Customer Success team to find out more!
What is your class schedule?
It depends on your availability! As we open new classes every week, we can find a suitable slot for you and your child after the assessment results from the Course Recommendation Session!
