Course Overview

This course provides an exciting opportunity for Minecraft enthusiasts to learn the basics of modding (modifications) in Minecraft. Students will be introduced to MCreator and BlockBench, powerful tools for creating custom blocks, items, tools, dimensions and mobs. Students will also explore 3D modelling using BlockBench to create unique textures for their custom mods. Through this course, students will be equipped with valuable skills to create their own mods and to customize the Minecraft game according to their preferences.

Course Objectives

MCreator

MCreator is an open-source software which students can use to create their own Minecraft Mods and import them into their Minecraft world

Blockbench

Blockbench is an animator editor which students can use to rig, position, and scale their model design.

Block-Based Programming

Students can learn to use block-based programming to create customized procedures for their pods

Creating Custom Blocks and Items

By using MCreator, students will be able to design and create custom blocks and items using pixel art for Minecraft.

Importing 3D Models and Textures

Learn to design and import 3D models and textures from BlockBench into MCreator.

Designing Graphical User Interfaces

At the end of this module, students will learn to understand what is Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) and design GUIs for their mods
